The Opportunity
Vendor spend is one of the largest and least audited lines on the P&L. Vaudit verifies and audits every vendor invoice with a team of AI agents, across advertising, AI and inference, cloud, SaaS, shipping and payments. $4B+ audited. $100M+ recovered. As CTO you own the engine behind that, and the engineering organisation that builds it, reporting to the CEO. We are mid Series A. The constraint is no longer whether the model works. It is how fast we can extend detection into new spend categories and scale the platform to carry it. This is not a purely executive or people leadership role. You will stay close to the technology, review architecture and critical systems directly, and engage on complex engineering problems when it matters.
What You'll OwnAgentic audit engine
The multi-agent architecture behind our detection lines: agents with defined scope, shared context, and coordinated execution across advertising, AI, cloud, SaaS, shipping and payments
The evaluation and observability layer that makes agent behaviour auditable, debuggable and improvable in production
Detection logic, anomaly detection, billing intelligence and recovery automation as first-class engineering surfaces
Platform
Platform architecture and the technical strategy to scale from our current spend categories into new ones
High-throughput ingestion across contracts, usage and billing, engineered for zero data loss, exactly-once processing and full replay
Deterministic reconciliation pipelines that independently verify the three sources against each other with accounting-grade rigor, so every recovered dollar is auditable end to end
The pairing of agentic detection with deterministic pipeline integrity, so agents reason on top of a ledger that is provably complete
Embeddings into the systems money already moves through: ERP, AP, accounting, procurement, banks, payments, cards and treasury
Security and engineering compliance
The security posture and compliance programme required to sit inside enterprise finance and engineering environments
Reliability and audit-readiness standards customers hold us to
Engineering organisation
The full engineering organisation
Hiring and retaining top talent
Operating cadence that makes a distributed team across a large time-zone gap work in practice rather than tolerating it
External
Technical credibility with customers, partners and investors, including Series A and B diligence
Board-level updates on platform, reliability, risk and technology investment
Partnership across the executive team on roadmap, build-versus-buy calls and capital allocation
What You Bring
A track record scaling an engineering organisation through a period of rapid growth. You have done the hiring, the restructuring and the process building, not inherited it
Startup experience at Series B or earlier, where you built the function rather than ran one that already existed
Experience leading distributed teams across significant time-zone gaps
Experience running AI systems in production in a commercial setting where model behaviour has real financial or operational consequences, not prototype or research work
Fluency in cloud infrastructure, streaming and real-time inference
Working knowledge of agentic frameworks in production and their failure modes: latency, cost, evaluation, fallback and rate limits
Experience owning security and compliance in a customer-facing product
Still hands-on. You can review code, architecture and production incidents directly when it matters
The ability to sit in front of a customer's CTO or an investor and be the technical answer in the room
Willingness to travel frequently, including regular trips to our Bangkok office, and work across the time gap the rest of the time
These are non-negotiables. Applications without startup experience at Series B or earlier, and without distributed team leadership, will not be reviewed.
What Success Looks Like
A clear technology strategy and engineering foundation that supports significant product and business growth
Stronger engineering standards, higher development velocity and greater production reliability across the org
Architectural decisions that let us scale into new spend categories without creating unnecessary complexity
Detection coverage extended across new spend categories on a predictable cadence
A senior technical leadership layer in place, capable of running architectural domains independently
Executive-level leadership combined with genuine engineering depth, raising the technical bar across the organisation
