Java Developer / IoT Platform Engineer

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer / IoT Platform Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Java, AWS IoT Core, MQTT, and connected-device platforms.
The ideal candidate should have a strong Java backend development background along with 3+ years of recent IoT and AWS IoT Core experience. This is specifically an IoT platform development role, not a generic AWS or DevOps position.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable IoT platform applications using Java.
Develop backend services and REST APIs using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
Work extensively with AWS IoT Core for device connectivity and communication.
Develop solutions for large-scale connected devices and IoT data flows.
Implement MQTT-based device messaging and device lifecycle management.
Work with AWS IoT Device Shadow, Device Registry, and IoT Rules Engine.
Develop cloud-to-device and device-to-cloud communication solutions.
Integrate IoT devices with cloud services and backend applications.
Troubleshoot device connectivity, messaging, and IoT platform issues.
Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and performant.
Mandatory Skills
Strong hands-on Java development experience.
Java 17+ experience in recent projects.
Strong Spring Boot expertise.
3+ years of recent IoT experience.
3+ years of hands-on AWS IoT Core experience.
Strong understanding of MQTT.

Java Developer + IoT Platform Engineer + AWS IoT Core Specialist
We are specifically looking for candidates who have built and developed IoT platforms using Java and AWS IoT Core, rather than profiles focused primarily on AWS infrastructure, DevOps, or generic cloud development.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Java Developer / IoT Platform Engineer role based in Hyderabad. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and services that power IoT platforms, including microservices and backend APIs. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, implement integrations with IoT devices, and optimize system performance and reliability. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, troubleshooting and debugging issues, participating in code reviews, and ensuring adherence to security and quality standards. The role also requires contributing to architectural decisions, improving existing services, and supporting deployment and monitoring in production environments.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Java and general Programming skills for backend and IoT platform development.
Experience in Software Development using modern practices, including design patterns, testing, and version control.
Hands-on expertise with Microservices architecture, including building, deploying, and maintaining distributed services.
Practical experience with the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, etc.) for building robust, scalable applications.
Understanding of IoT concepts, device integration, messaging protocols (e.g., MQTT, REST), and cloud-based IoT platforms.
Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, API design, and performance optimization.
Ability to work on-site in Hyderabad, collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools is a plus.
