Whitehall Resources are looking for an SAP Basis Coordinator. This role is fully remote working for offshore candidates based in India, for an initial 12 Month contract.
Role Summary:
The SAP Basis Coordinator is the functional lead and Product Owner for all SAP Basis activities within the Greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation program running in an SAP RISE Private Edition environment.
The role is responsible for planning, prioritizing, coordinating, and governing the complete SAP Basis workstream while aligning and coordinating with the SAP Basis consultants & architects. An additional part of these activities will be the authorization concept, ensuring that our security and business requirements are fulfilled, properly documented, and robust to withstand an audit.
The coordinator ensures that all Basis-related tasks required to build, integrate, secure, monitor, and operate the SAP landscape are planed, committed and delivered on time and according to program objectives.
This position combines deep SAP Basis and SAP RISE expertise with strong project coordination, stakeholder management, and communication capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP Basis Workstream Leadership
Own and manage the SAP Basis roadmap, backlog, and delivery plan.
Act as Product Owner for Basis-related epics, features, and technical work packages.
Prioritize and coordinate Basis activities across implementation phases.
Ensure proper governance of all activities as epics and tasks in Jira and confluence, including refinement, planning, demo & review etc
Hands on mentality, able to handle also own Basis tasks
SAP RISE Landscape Delivery
Lead the build-up of the complete SAP system landscape (DEV, QAS, PRE-PROD, PROD + SAP CAR, S/4, SLT Fiori Hub).
Coordinate provisioning, integrations, environment management, and operational readiness.
Ensure alignment between ECP program governance, SAP teams and internal Witt teams (security, network, architecture).
Coordination & Governance
Orchestrate activites of a team of SAP Basis consultants and external service providers.
Drive planning, execution, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
Work in an agile working environment (Sprints, Jira, Confluence). Ensure proper governance of all activities as epics and tasks in Jira and confluence, including refinement, planning, demo & review etc
Establish Basis governance, standards, processes, and documentation. Ensure that operational processes are in place and fully functional after ERP Release I goes live
Stakeholder Management
Serve as the central contact for all SAP Basis status and plan.
Communicate plans, milestones, risks, issues, and status to project leadership and stakeholders.
Operational Readiness
Ensure Basis roadmap and approach covers and implements monitoring, security, backup/recovery, HA/DR, and support concepts.
Ensure a stable transition from project implementation into productive operations.
*SAP authorization Leadership *
Own and manage the SAP authorization and access management strategy.
Ensure that business, security, compliance, and data protection requirements are fulfilled.
Establish governance for roles, profiles, user access, privileged access, and emergency access.
Manage and coordinate SAP role design, including business roles, composite roles, single roles, and organizational-level restrictions.
Ensure compliance with Segregation of Duties (SoD) requirements and support risk analysis and remediation.
SAP Basis & SAP RISE
Extensive SAP Basis experience in enterprise SAP landscapes.
Proven expertise in SAP RISE Private Edition environments.
Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and operations.
Experience coordinating with SAP RISE service teams and hyperscaler environments.
Understanding on SAP authorization access and governance
