ALTEN Mexico as a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group is currently working with international clients, and we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer Sr who will contribute to the development of an Iron Air Battery, a large-scale energy storage solution, as mechanical DFX lead for cost, manufacturability, design integration, and technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical work packages and allocate activities across the mechanical team.
Develop and review redesign concepts for pack structures, roof/base skid, cell hardware, piping, fittings, scrubber vessel, and sustaining issues.
Drive design reviews, problem resolution, supplier DFM discussions, and cross-functional decisions.
Ensure designs maintain critical interfaces and backward compatibility where required.
Review CAD, drawings, GD&T, tolerance analyses, BOMs, cost estimates, and validation plans.
Coordinate FEA, CFD, plastics, materials, electrical, manufacturing, and sourcing inputs.
Requirements
Must‑Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related fields.
7+ years of mechanical product-development experience, including technical ownership of complex assemblies.
Experience in product design from concept through detailed design, verification, release, and production support.
Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA, DFMEA, and engineering change control.
Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations across design, manufacturing, analysis, suppliers, and customers.
Advanced SolidWorks capability for parts, assemblies, drawings, configurations, and design changes; experience with PLM/PDM and formal release processes.
Demonstrated cost-reduction, supplier collaboration, and technical-leadership experience.
Ability to combine CAD, CAE results, supplier feedback, validation planning, and cost data into design decisions.
Experience with structures, sheet metal, welded assemblies, piping, fittings, plastics, tolerance analysis, and mechanical interfaces.
English level B2–C1.

Experience in energy storage systems (e.g., batteries, iron-air technology).
