Deputy General Manager - Business Development & Operations

Salam Kisan (PRYM Group) is one of India's fastest-growing agri-tech companies, bringing drone-based crop spraying and precision-agriculture services directly to farmers — backed by PRYM Aerospace's drone manufacturing capability and a DGCA-approved drone training school. We're scaling our Maharashtra operations hard, and we're hiring a DGM to own the state's entire field business — people, territory, volume, and revenue, in one seat.
This is a dual-mandate role: you'll manage our entire Regional Manager layer in Maharashtra (and, through them, the pilots on the ground), while also personally carrying your own sales number for drone sales and drone-as-a-service. You'll report directly to the Chief Business Officer.
Location: Maharashtra (state-level role, travel-heavy across assigned districts)

Experience: 5+ years in agri business development & agri operations (Maharashtra or pan-India)
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own daily operations across your assigned territories, including clubbing districts into workable clusters
- Manage the entire Regional Manager (RM) layer in Maharashtra — targets, performance, coaching — and hold RMs accountable for the pilots reporting to them
- Drive and be accountable for drone-spray volume and drone-unit sales across the state
- Personally originate and close drone sales and drone-as-a-service (spray) business as an individual contributor, alongside team management
- Be the point of contact ensuring farmer demonstrations, krishi melas, dealer meets, and other field events go as planned
- Report to the Management on territory performance, pipeline, and RM/pilot performance on an agreed cadence
YOU SHOULD HAVE
- 5+ years in agri business development and agri operations, across Maharashtra or pan-India
- Experience managing a layer of managers (e.g. RMs), not just individual field staff
- Operated in tier 2 / tier 3 agri markets — district and taluka-level, not only metro/HO roles
- Comfortable being both a people manager and an individual sales contributor at once
- Willingness to travel extensively across Maharashtra and be present in the field
- Strong Marathi and Hindi; working proficiency in English
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders across institutions and government bodies
GOOD TO HAVE
- Prior experience in drone sales or drone-as-a-service (agri spraying, mapping, or survey)
- Background in agri-input, agri-equipment, or agri-implement field sales (seeds, agrochemicals, farm machinery, precision-ag) if direct drone experience isn't there
- Exposure to FPOs, agri cooperatives, and institutional/government agri channels in Maharashtra
- Track record in new business development — identifying opportunities, building pipelines, and closing complex deals
- Experience in contract negotiation and managing key accounts or multi-stakeholder partnerships
- Bachelor's in agriculture/agri-business; MBA/PGDM a plus
