Job Role: Product Marketing Manager
Job Location: Hyderabad (On-site)
About the role:
SmartWinnr is a revenue enablement platform for life sciences, serving pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Our customers include some of the largest life sciences organisations in the world, and most of our revenue comes from the United States.
We are looking for our first product marketing hire. That means building from nothing: limited existing messaging, no competitive library, no case studies. It also means the person who takes this on defines how we talk about the product for the next several years.
If you want to join a function that already runs, this is the wrong role. If you want to build one, it is a good one.
What you will own:
Messaging and positioning. How we describe the product to each segment we sell to, from enterprise pharmaceutical companies to specialty biotech to medical device manufacturers. These audiences buy differently, and the messaging has to reflect that.
Competitive intelligence. Who we compete with and what they claim, and how our marketing and sales team should respond. Ongoing work rather than a one-off deck.
Customer proof. Interviewing customers, building case studies, and maintaining a proof library that maps to the accounts we target. This is the single biggest gap we have today.
Sales enablement. The material our US sales team uses in live deals: battlecards, objection handling, one-pagers, deal support.
Launch support. Bringing new capabilities to market internally and externally, working with Product.
What the first 90 days look like:
We will judge the role on output, not activity. By the end of the first quarter, we would expect:
A messaging framework covering enterprise pharmaceutical and enterprise medical device buyers.
A battlecard for our primary competitors, built from win and loss evidence rather than their website.
Three customer stories published from US life sciences accounts.
A proof point library mapped to the accounts our outbound program is targeting.
What we are looking for:
Five or more years in B2B SaaS product marketing.
You have built messaging from scratch rather than maintained someone else's. We will ask you to walk us through one.
Experience marketing to United States buyers, whether from India or elsewhere.
Comfortable talking to customers directly. A good part of this role is interviewing people and finding the story inside what they tell you.
Able to write clearly and with a point of view.
Useful but not required:
Experience in life sciences, healthcare or another regulated industry. Familiarity with sales enablement, learning technology. We can teach the industry to someone who is good at crafts.
What this role is not:
It is not a content marketing role. We have people writing for the blog and for searching. It is not a demand generation role. And it is not a people management role, at least initially. You will be doing the work yourself.
Practical details:
You will be based in India and working on a market that is nine and a half hours behind. Some overlap with US hours is part of the job, particularly for customer interviews.
