Role Description
As a Software Engineer Intern at Observal, you will work full time in a remote capacity, collaborating with the engineering team to build and improve the core platform. You will help design, implement, and test backend services and APIs that integrate with various AI tools and developer environments. Your day-to-day work may include writing clean, maintainable code, reviewing pull requests, debugging issues in production-like environments, and contributing to open-source features and documentation. You will also participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and technical discussions to refine architecture, enhance reliability, and improve developer experience. This role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in modern software development and open-source collaboration.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and systems fundamentals.
Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar).
Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and working with databases.
Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to apply them in real-world projects.
Familiarity with Git, GitHub workflows, and contributing to open-source projects.
Comfort working in a remote, collaborative environment with clear communication and time management.
Exposure to Docker, cloud platforms, or observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing) is a plus.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
