The Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Specialist to support financial operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, accounting coordination, cash management, and financial controls across the organization. The ideal candidate will provide strong analytical and operational support throughout the finance lifecycle, from transaction review and financial reporting through budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day financial operations and accounting activities across the organization.
Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, schedules, reports, and supporting documentation.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner.
Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and internal financial summaries.
Monitor income, expenses, cash flows, receivables, payables, and other key financial activities.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
Compare actual financial performance against approved budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
Investigate significant financial variances and coordinate with relevant departments to understand underlying causes.
Support project-level financial reporting and analysis for construction and operational activities.
Coordinate with Project Management, Commercial, Procurement, and Construction teams regarding project financial information.
Review project costs, commitments, expenditures, and financial performance against approved plans.
Assist with monitoring project budgets, cost forecasts, change orders, and commercial commitments.
Support financial analysis related to contracts, suppliers, vendors, consultants, and subcontractors.
Review invoices, payment requests, expense claims, purchase orders, and other financial documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to resolve outstanding financial matters.
Monitor customer receivables, payment status, aging balances, and collection-related information.
Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning activities.
Assist with bank reconciliations, cash reporting, and treasury-related administrative activities.
Maintain accurate financial data within approved accounting and financial management systems.
Review financial system entries and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Assist with chart of accounts maintenance, cost-center tracking, project coding, and financial classification.
Support financial controls designed to protect company assets and improve reporting accuracy.
Identify unusual transactions, discrepancies, control weaknesses, and other financial issues for appropriate review.
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules, reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Maintain organized financial records in accordance with company policies and applicable record-retention requirements.
Support compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial policies, contractual requirements, and relevant U.S. laws and regulations.
Coordinate with Tax, Legal, Procurement, Commercial, and Finance teams on matters requiring cross-functional financial input.
Assist with tax-related data gathering, reporting support, documentation, and coordination with tax professionals where required.
Support financial analysis for new projects, investments, procurement decisions, and business initiatives.
Prepare financial models, schedules, calculations, and scenario analyses to support management decisions.
Assist with cost-benefit analysis and financial evaluation of operational and strategic initiatives.
Monitor key financial performance indicators and prepare regular management dashboards and reports.
Analyze financial trends and identify opportunities to improve cost control, resource utilization, and financial performance.
Support the development and maintenance of finance policies, procedures, templates, and internal controls.
Assist with financial process improvement, automation, system implementation, and workflow optimization initiatives.
Coordinate with Information Technology regarding finance systems, user access, reporting tools, integrations, and data integrity.
Support Finance system upgrades, testing, data validation, and implementation activities.
Maintain confidentiality of financial records, employee information, customer data, commercial information, and other sensitive business information.
Ensure financial reports and communications are accurate, timely, properly documented, and appropriately authorized.
Coordinate with external auditors, financial institutions, consultants, and other financial service providers when required.
Assist with vendor and supplier financial reviews, payment analysis, and account reconciliation.
Support procurement and commercial teams with financial analysis of vendor proposals, pricing, payment terms, and contractual commitments.
Assist Human Resources and Payroll teams with finance-related reporting, reconciliations, and employee cost analysis where required.
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports in response to management and departmental requests.
Maintain professional knowledge of finance practices, accounting principles, financial systems, reporting requirements, and industry developments.
Provide timely financial information and analysis to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
Participate in finance meetings and contribute financial insights to business planning and organizational initiatives.
Assist Executive Leadership with financial reports, performance analysis, forecasts, and management information.
Identify recurring financial issues and recommend practical improvements to controls, processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Support continuous improvement of financial governance, reporting quality, cost management, and financial planning processes.
Perform other finance, accounting, analytical, reporting, and administrative responsibilities consistent with the position and organizational needs.
