Company: ZobeLab, Inc.
Location: Fully Remote Role
Type: Executive Leadership Opportunity In A Bootstrapped Startup (Equity + Performance-Based Compensation)
Industry: MusicTech • EdTech • FinTech • AI • Creator Economy • Metaverse (AR/VR)
Build & Execute ZobeLab’s Growth and Revenue Engine
ZobeLab is seeking an entrepreneurial, hands-on Chief Growth & Revenue Officer (CGRO) to join our executive leadership team and take ownership of the company’s growth, commercialization, and revenue strategy.
This is not a traditional CMO or strategy-only executive position.
We need a builder, operator, and closer who can develop strategy AND personally execute it.
The CGRO will own the growth and revenue funnel:
Awareness → Acquisition → Activation → Engagement → Conversion → Monetization → Revenue → Retention → Referral
The goal is simple: turn awareness into users, users into subscribers, subscribers into recurring revenue, relationships into opportunities, advertisers into revenue, and traction into scalable growth.
About ZobeLab
ZobeLab, Inc. is a technology startup building an AI-powered Creator Operating System for the independent music economy.
Our mission is to empower independent artists, DJs, producers, songwriters, managers, music professionals, educators, and entrepreneurs with interconnected technology, education, guidance, services, opportunities, and resources.
Our ecosystem is built around four pillars:
Zobe Academy – Learn: Our current live product featuring music education, mentorship, consultations, AI Critique, ZobeBot, career guidance, and artist development.
Zobe Studio – Build: Planned music creation, production, collaboration, and professional development tools.
Zobe Marketplace – Earn: Planned services, gigs, sponsorships, grants, opportunities, and monetization.
ZobeVerse – Connect: Future immersive networking, education, collaboration, showcases, performances, and experiences.
ZobeLab is founder-funded and bootstrapped and is preparing for its next stage of commercialization, growth, partnerships, product expansion, and fundraising.
The Role
As a lean startup, we need one accountable executive connecting marketing, growth, acquisition, sales, advertising, monetization, pricing, conversion, retention, go-to-market strategy, and revenue.
You will work directly with the Founder/CEO and executive team to determine:
How do we acquire more qualified users?
How do we turn downloads into active users?
How do we convert users into paying subscribers?
How do we increase retention and recurring revenue?
How should we price, package, and monetize our offerings?
How do we attract advertisers, sponsors, and commercial partners?
How can affiliates, A&Rs, ambassadors, creators, interns, and partnerships become scalable growth channels?
Which acquisition channels actually produce customers and revenue?
What does the data tell us to improve next?
You will not simply answer these questions—you will execute the strategies necessary to produce the answers and measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Growth & Acquisition: Develop and execute strategies across digital, organic, content, social, PR, community, creator, affiliate, referral, partnership, and other channels to increase qualified users, downloads, activation, and subscribers.
Conversion & Subscription Growth: Own the journey from download → onboarding → activation → trial → paid subscription. Identify friction, improve conversion, increase paid subscribers, and grow recurring revenue.
Revenue & Monetization: Develop and execute strategies across subscriptions, consultations, courses, artist development, services, sponsorships, advertising, affiliates, B2B opportunities, licensing, future marketplace transactions, and other revenue streams.
Pricing: Work with leadership to develop and test pricing, subscription plans, packages, promotions, bundles, upsells, cross-sells, and monetization opportunities.
Advertising Revenue: Build an advertising revenue channel by identifying, prospecting, pitching, negotiating with, and helping close advertisers and sponsors for opportunities including in-app banner advertising, website advertising, sponsored content, programs, events, and brand partnerships.
Sales & Business Development: Build ZobeLab’s early sales pipeline. Conduct outreach, develop proposals and offers, follow up with prospects, participate in negotiations, and help close B2C, B2B, advertising, sponsorship, licensing, and strategic opportunities.
Marketing Affiliate Program: Recruit, activate, and manage affiliates to generate measurable traffic, users, subscribers, customers, and revenue.
A&R & Ambassador Programs: Build and manage programs that engage A&Rs, artists, DJs, producers, creators, influencers, and music professionals as talent-development, referral, marketing, case-study, and customer-acquisition channels.
Internship Program: Help activate and lead interns supporting growth, marketing, sales, outreach, research, content, analytics, and other commercial initiatives.
Go-to-Market: Own and execute GTM strategies for ZobeLab’s current product and future ecosystem launches.
Retention: Develop strategies to improve engagement, renewals, retention, referrals, customer lifetime value, and reduce preventable churn.
Revenue Forecasting: Partner with the Founder/CEO and CFO/COO on data-supported revenue forecasts, subscriber growth assumptions, pipelines, and commercial opportunities.
Analytics & Systems: Establish dashboards, CRM processes, funnel tracking, attribution, sales pipelines, and reporting necessary to understand what is working.
Key metrics may include downloads, activation, active users, trial-to-paid conversion, paid subscribers, MRR/ARR, retention, churn, ARPU, customer lifetime value, acquisition costs, affiliate performance, advertising revenue, sales pipeline, and campaign ROI.
Execution Is Essential
ZobeLab does not need an executive who primarily attends meetings, creates presentations, recommends strategies, and waits for others to execute them.
We need someone who can:
Strategize. Execute. Measure. Learn. Adjust. Execute Again.
At this stage, the CGRO must be willing to personally conduct outreach, recruit affiliates and ambassadors, pursue advertisers and sponsors, develop campaigns, build funnels, analyze performance, create offers, communicate with prospects, participate in sales conversations, manage contributors, follow up, and help close revenue opportunities.
This is a builder’s role.
As ZobeLab grows and secures funding, the CGRO can build specialized growth, marketing, sales, revenue operations, and customer-success teams.
What Success Looks Like
Success will ultimately be demonstrated through tangible improvements in:
Active Users • Paid Subscribers • Activation • Conversion • Retention • Recurring Revenue • Advertising Revenue • Sales Pipeline • Affiliate Performance • Partnership Activation • Customer Lifetime Value • Repeatable Acquisition Channels
Not every startup experiment will succeed. We expect the CGRO to execute consistently, measure results, learn quickly, adjust, and demonstrate forward progress.
