We're Hiring: Senior MES Business Analyst – Ignition / Manufacturing Systems
📍 Remote | Travel to Manufacturing Sites Across North America
⏳ Long-Term Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced MES Business Analyst / MES Functional Consultant to support a multi-site MES Lite implementation using Inductive Automation Ignition.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands both manufacturing shop-floor operations and MES functional requirements and can work closely with plant teams, IT, ERP teams, and MES technical architects.
🔹 What you'll be doing
• Lead requirements-gathering workshops with Production, Quality, Engineering and Plant Operations teams
• Document as-is / to-be processes, functional requirements, user stories and process maps
• Partner with the MES Technical Architect to translate business requirements into an Ignition-based solution
• Define MES–ERP integration requirements, including SAP data flows
• Work with production reporting, inventory, genealogy and traceability requirements
• Develop UAT plans, test cases and acceptance criteria
• Manage defect triage and support resolution
• Support training, go-live and hypercare activities
• Help develop a standardized multi-site MES rollout playbook
🔹 Must-Have Skills
✅ 8+ years of overall professional experience
✅ 3+ years of MES/MOM Business Analyst or Functional Consultant experience
✅ Strong discrete manufacturing / shop-floor experience
✅ Experience gathering and documenting MES requirements
✅ Experience with ERP/MES integration, preferably SAP
✅ Strong UAT, testing and defect-management experience
✅ Experience with multi-site or phased manufacturing-system implementations
✅ Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
✅ Basic SQL / relational database knowledge
✅ Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites across North America
⭐ Highly Preferred
• Inductive Automation Ignition experience
• ISA-95 knowledge
• SCADA / historian experience
• QMS / WMS integration experience
• Electrical/electronic manufacturing experience
• Experience with OEE, downtime, throughput and genealogy/traceability
