Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Primary Function/General Purpose Of Position
The Vice President, Finance Data & Analytics is a strategic Finance leader responsible for designing, building, and leading the Finance data and analytics capability, including the enterprise semantic layer, analytics governance, forecasting modernization, and proactive insight delivery. This role owns the Finance Digital Strategy and chairs the Finance Digital Council, partnering closely with IT and the Enterprise Data Warehouse team to ensure Finance business logic, data governance, and analytics capabilities are delivered in a secure, scalable environment.
Essential Job Functions
Own and execute the Finance Digital Strategy; lead annual roadmap updates and milestone accountability through the Finance Digital Council
Chair the Finance Digital Council — coordinating product owners across five system domains (Planning & Forecasting, Revenue & Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Cost & Decision Support, Core Financials, Workforce & Supply Chain)
Represent and set Finance data interests in enterprise-wide data governance and IT architecture forums
Establish and enforce AI and automation governance for Finance — including use case briefs, human-in-the-loop thresholds, audit trail requirements, and compliance review
Lead the design and buildout of the enterprise Finance semantic layer — defining and governing single sources of truth for GL, RCM, cost accounting, workforce, and supply chain data
Drive enterprise Finance analytics platform activation and integration, including Strata (cost model and reporting roadmap), Epic/HECDP/Caboodle (RCM analytics), and consolidation of Finance data assets into governed environments.
Design and implement annual data quality baselines by domain and own KPI targets, remediation prioritization and reporting to Chief Financial Officer.
Modernize financial planning and reporting processes, including rolling forecast transformation (e.g., Workday Adaptive Planning), Power BI enablement (paginated reports, certified datasets, dashboards), and replacement of manual Excel-based workflows.
Build the service line analytics capability — connecting Strata cost data, Epic revenue and volume data, and Workday labor and supply costs into the organization's first system-level service line contribution margin view
Drive proactive insight delivery: design and deploy automated alerts, variance flagging, and narrative summaries that push actionable signals to Finance and operational leaders without manual requests
Lead rolling forecast modernization in partnership with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Leader and Workday Adaptive Planning product owner — replacing manual, monthly Excel-based processes with an automated, sub-monthly cadence
Build and lead a team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and insight analysts — with headcount scaling per the Finance Digital Strategy staffing roadmap, manage vendor relationships including Microsoft, Strata Decision Insight, and analytics consulting partners.
Design/execute the Finance digital skills program across all three tiers: data literacy for all Finance staff; Power BI authoring and SQL for analysts; semantic modeling and AI governance for leaders
