Clutch is looking for a visionary, results-driven Freelance VP, Account Director for a client of ours—a premier, globally recognized health and wellness advertising agency. We are seeking an elite pharmaceutical agency leader who can command a room, guide high-profile brand portfolios, and steer complex, multi-channel DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) and HCP (Healthcare Professional) initiatives from strategy through flawless execution.
Responsibilities
Executive Client Partnership: Act as the strategic lead and trusted counselor for major pharmaceutical brand teams, fostering long-term relationships with senior marketing executives, product directors, and medical leads.
Portfolio & Business Leadership: Oversee the financial health, operational scope, and strategic direction of major health accounts, driving business growth and ensuring high-impact delivery across the portfolio.
Omnichannel & Campaign Mastery: Direct complex, integrated marketing campaigns spanning digital, interactive, CRM, social, and professional channels, keeping cross-functional teams aligned on overarching brand objectives.
Regulatory & MLR Fluency: Navigate rigorous Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR/LMR) approval processes with ease, ensuring all pharmaceutical communications strictly adhere to FDA guidelines, ISI requirements, and clinical data standards.
Cross-Disciplinary Team Orchestration: Lead and inspire internal talent across account management, strategy, creative, medical copy, analytics, and project management to push the boundaries of healthcare marketing.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive account leadership experience, with a mandatory background working inside dedicated healthcare, medical, or pharmaceutical advertising agencies.
Proven, hands-on expertise managing major DTC and HCP pharmaceutical accounts through complex commercial lifecycles.
Bonus: Direct experience overseeing high-value television or broadcast production campaigns within the pharma/healthcare space is a strong plus.
Deep mastery of pharmaceutical regulatory standards, MLR workflows, and translating complex clinical data into compelling creative strategies.
Exceptional executive presence, outstanding communication and negotiation skills, and a demonstrated ability to lead high-stakes client presentations.
