Position: Industrial Hygienist / Process Safety Engineer
Type: Contract
Compensation: $65–$75/hour
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities
Write challenging single-turn prompts in chemistry and chemical safety. Label them as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.
Evaluate AI model responses against a defined policy standard. Judge correctness of handling.
Write reference answers with technical reasoning for correct responses.
Assess dual-use scenarios. Ensure models refuse dangerous questions while answering legitimate ones.
Collaborate with AI research teams to improve model judgment on misuse potential.
Work independently and asynchronously. Maintain flexible hours.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Certified industrial hygienist with experience in exposure assessment, sampling strategy, and control banding.
Experience in process hazard analysis, including HAZOP, LOPA, and management of change.
Expertise in toxic release and dispersion modeling, with knowledge of AEGL/ERPG criteria.
Experience in ventilation, containment, and PPE program design for chemical hazards.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance such as PSM, Seveso, COMAH, or OSHA.
Preferred
Prior technical writing, published research, or expert witness experience. Include a sample or link.
