Physical Design Engineer

Role Description The Physical Design Engineer will work in a full-time remote capacity, contributing to advanced semiconductor design projects for global clients. Responsibilities include implementing and optimizing physical design flows, performing floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, and routing for complex digital designs. The role involves close collaboration with logic and RTL design teams to ensure design intent is preserved through the physical implementation stages. The engineer will conduct physical verification, timing closure, and design-for-manufacturability checks, while debugging and resolving layout issues. Daily activities also include documentation of design methodologies, participation in design reviews, and alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Physical Design, including floorplanning, placement, routing, and timing closure.
Experience with Physical Verification, such as DRC, LVS, and sign-off checks.
Proficiency in Logic Design and Circuit Design for digital integrated circuits.
Hands-on experience with RTL Design, including synthesis and constraint development.
Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor) and modern process nodes.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Ability to collaborate effectively in remote, cross-functional teams and communicate clearly in writing and speech.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new methodologies and technologies.
