Role Description The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and backend services, ensuring the reliability and performance of internal tools and public-facing platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and executing test cases, performing both manual and automated testing, documenting defects, and collaborating with engineers and product stakeholders to resolve issues. The role involves participating in sprint planning, refining testing strategies, setting up test environments, and contributing to continuous integration and delivery pipelines. The engineer is expected to proactively improve QA processes, advocate for quality across the development lifecycle, and help maintain high standards for user experience and system stability.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Quality Assurance and Software Testing, with a focus on structured test design and defect tracking.
Hands-on experience creating and executing Test Cases, including regression, integration, and functional testing.
Proficiency in Manual Testing to validate edge cases, usability, and exploratory scenarios.
Practical expertise in QA Automation, including building and maintaining automated test suites.
Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG) and CI/CD platforms.
Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Ability to analyze requirements, identify risks, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience testing media, streaming, or content platforms is a plus, along with familiarity with APIs and performance testing tools.
