Role Description The PVC-O Line Engineer is responsible for overseeing daily production operations on the PVC-O manufacturing line in an on-site, full-time capacity at the Purba Bardhaman district facility. The role includes monitoring process parameters, ensuring product quality, coordinating with maintenance and production teams, and resolving line issues to minimize downtime. The engineer will perform routine inspections, support preventive maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. Day-to-day tasks also involve documenting production data, optimizing line performance, supporting root-cause analysis for defects, and collaborating with supervisors and operators for continuous improvement. The engineer is expected to contribute to process enhancements, standard operating procedures, and training initiatives for line personnel.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of PVC or polymer processing, extrusion technologies, and general manufacturing operations.
Knowledge of quality control methods, including inspection techniques, testing procedures, and adherence to product specifications.
Familiarity with industrial safety practices, environmental compliance, and workplace health and safety standards.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, process documentation, and equipment manuals for troubleshooting and optimization.
Competence in data collection, basic analysis of production metrics, and use of MS Office or similar digital tools.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and the capacity to respond quickly to line disruptions.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer, or Industrial Engineering (or a related technical field).
Prior experience in pipe manufacturing, plastics processing, or continuous production environments is an advantage.
Willingness to work on-site in the Purba Bardhaman district and flexibly align with plant shift schedules as needed.
