Role Description The Resident Medical Officer role is a contract, on-site position based at The B D Petit Parsee General Hospital in Mumbai. The Resident Medical Officer will provide day-to-day medical care to inpatients and outpatients, including taking histories, performing clinical examinations, ordering and interpreting basic investigations, and initiating appropriate treatment under the supervision of senior physicians. Responsibilities include monitoring patient progress, responding to clinical emergencies, coordinating with consultants and nursing staff, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation in medical records. The role also involves assisting in minor procedures, supporting surgical teams as required, participating in clinical rounds, and contributing to patient and family education. The Resident Medical Officer is expected to follow hospital protocols, maintain high standards of safety and infection control, and participate in training activities and case discussions.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Medicine with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage common clinical conditions.
Demonstrated Patient Care skills, including compassionate communication, bedside manner, and adherence to clinical safety standards.
Experience or aptitude in Surgery assistance, including pre-operative and post-operative care and support during procedures.
Ability to work collaboratively with Physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver holistic care.
Interest in Training and continuous professional development, including participation in clinical teaching, case presentations, and protocol updates.
MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution; valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by hospital operations.
Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and familiarity with hospital information systems or electronic medical records.
