Role Description As an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Charlie, you will design, develop, and optimize AI models that power our legal intelligence platform in a full-time remote role. You will build and refine machine learning pipelines, with a focus on natural language processing and pattern recognition tailored to regional legal texts and use cases. Day-to-day, you will collaborate with product and legal domain experts to translate requirements into scalable software solutions, integrate AI components into production systems, and monitor performance in real-world environments. You will also conduct experiments, evaluate new algorithms and architectures, improve data quality, and contribute to documentation, testing, and continuous improvement of our AI stack.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and modern software engineering practices.
Hands-on experience with Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition, especially in building, training, and deploying machine learning models.
Practical expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), including working with text classification, information extraction, and language model fine-tuning.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI (such as Python) and frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Experience deploying AI systems in production environments (e.g., cloud infrastructure, APIs, microservices) with attention to reliability and scalability.
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional partners, and collaborate in a diverse, inclusive team.
Familiarity with legal or compliance domains, or interest in learning about legal workflows and constraints, is a plus.
