Role Description The Telecaller role at Nawan Namana Daily Newspaper is a full-time, on-site position based in Nawanshahr. The Telecaller will make outbound and receive inbound calls to inform potential and existing readers about newspaper subscriptions, offers, and services. Daily tasks include explaining subscription plans, answering queries, updating customer details, and recording call outcomes in a clear and organized manner. The role also involves following up on leads, maintaining positive relationships with customers, and coordinating with the internal team to support circulation and marketing activities. The Telecaller is expected to meet call and conversion targets while maintaining professional and respectful communication at all times.
Qualifications
Ability to communicate clearly and confidently over the phone, with strong listening and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer literacy, including handling call logs, customer databases, and simple office software.
Customer service mindset, with the ability to address questions, resolve concerns, and maintain polite and patient interactions.
Organizational skills to manage call schedules, follow-ups, and accurate record-keeping.
Comfort working in a target-driven environment and collaborating with the team to support sales and circulation objectives.
Prior experience in telecalling, customer support, or sales is an advantage but not mandatory.
Minimum educational qualification of high school completion; additional training in communication or sales is beneficial.
Proficiency in local languages used in Nawanshahr and basic English communication skills.
