Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Tailor role based at Manav Kalamkari. The Tailor will be responsible for executing fast-paced, high-fashion garment construction, utilizing advanced draping techniques, and sewing garments according to strict design requirements and technical specifications. Daily tasks include cutting fabric, stitching and finishing garments, handling complex structures like corsets and avant-garde pieces, and ensuring the flawless fit and comfort of each outfit. The Tailor will work closely with expert Pattern Masters and the studio team to meet multiple project deadlines, uphold luxury quality standards, and support a seamless production workflow
Strong tailoring and dressmaking skills, including advanced cutting, stitching, and garment construction.
Expertise in draping directly on the dress form and accurately translating complex flat patterns into finished pieces.
High-speed execution capabilities tailored for a fast-paced, high-fashion environment without compromising precision.
Attention to detail, quality-focused workmanship, and the ability to strictly follow detailed design instructions, tech packs, and patterns.
Hands-on experience working with premium materials, specialized interlining, and high-quality hardware (including concealed and brass zippers).
Experience working in a high-end tailoring shop, boutique, or designer studio is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple orders efficiently and meet strict project deadlines.
Deep knowledge of different fabric behaviors, grainlines, traditional and contemporary styles, and specific care requirements.
Formal training or certification in tailoring or fashion design is an advantage.
