Company Description Cyber Jurisprudence International Initiative (CyJurII) is a pioneering platform dedicated to advancing legal thought and governance in the digital age. The initiative focuses on the intersection of law, cyberspace, and emerging technologies, including AI and law, cybercrime, digital sovereignty, legal cybernetics, cross-border jurisdiction, and cyber rights and ethics. CyJurII brings together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to shape evolving cyber jurisprudence through research, dialogue, and collaborative projects. Its mission is to build a dynamic body of legal knowledge that addresses the complexities of the digital world and promotes justice in global cyber governance. Scholar Members contribute to publications, events, and research that inform policy and academic discourse in this rapidly developing field.
Role Description Scholar Members at CyJurII engage in collaborative research and writing on topics such as AI regulation, cybercrime case law, digital rights, and cross-border legal frameworks. On a day-to-day basis, members review current developments in cyber law, contribute to articles, reports, and policy briefs, and participate in virtual discussions, seminars, and working groups. They help organize and support online events, contribute to editorial and peer-review processes, and share insights that strengthen CyJurII’s publications and initiatives. This is a volunteer role carried out in a remote setting, offering flexible engagement for individuals committed to advancing cyber jurisprudence. Scholar Members are encouraged to propose new research ideas, co-author interdisciplinary projects, and collaborate with an international network of experts.
Qualifications
Background in law, international relations, public policy, computer science, or a related field, with a strong interest in cyberspace governance and emerging technologies.
Demonstrated research and analytical skills, including the ability to conduct literature reviews, synthesize complex information, and develop clear, well-supported arguments.
Strong legal writing and editing capabilities, with experience in academic, policy, or professional publications considered an asset.
Familiarity with cyber law domains such as AI and law, cybercrime, digital sovereignty, cyber rights and ethics, or cross-border jurisdiction.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, including comfort working remotely with an international, multidisciplinary team.
Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and contribute consistently in a volunteer capacity.
Prior involvement in academic research groups, think tanks, legal clinics, or policy initiatives is beneficial but not required.
