Position: Structural Quality Engineer / Supervisor

1. Job Summary
We are looking for a Structural Quality Engineer / Supervisor with 1–3 years of relevant experience in structural steel fabrication and welding inspection.
The candidate will be responsible for monitoring fabrication and welding activities, conducting visual inspections, verifying work against approved structural drawings, and ensuring compliance with project quality requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
Inspect structural steel fabrication and welding activities at the project/fabrication site.
Read and interpret Structural Drawings, Shop Drawings and Weld Symbols.
Check structural members for dimensions, alignment, fit-up and workmanship as per approved drawings.
Conduct Visual Inspection (VT) of welded joints and structural components.
Identify welding defects such as undercut, porosity, cracks, overlap, lack of fusion, spatter and other visible defects.
Verify weld preparation, joint fit-up, alignment and welding workmanship before and after welding.
Ensure fabrication and welding activities are carried out as per approved drawings, WPS and project specifications.
Coordinate with NDT personnel for required UT / DPT / MPT / RT inspections.
Review and verify NDT reports and coordinate for rectification wherever required.
Raise and follow up on quality observations and ensure timely corrective action.
Maintain inspection reports, checklists, quality records and other QC documentation.
Coordinate with Fabrication, Production, Planning and Project teams regarding quality-related issues.
Support Client / TPI / Final Inspection activities.
Monitor rework and ensure that rejected or defective work is properly rectified and re-inspected.
Ensure proper quality control throughout the fabrication process.
3. Educational Qualification
Mandatory / Preferred:
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience may also be considered.
4. Mandatory Certification
NDT Level II Certification – Mandatory
Candidate should have practical understanding of NDT inspection methods.
Knowledge/certification in UT, DPT, MPT or RT will be an added advantage.

6. Experience Required
1–3 Years of Relevant Experience
Candidates should have hands-on/site experience in:
Structural steel fabrication
Welding inspection
Structural drawing interpretation
Fit-up and dimensional inspection
Visual inspection of welds
NDT coordination
Only candidates with relevant experience in structural fabrication / quality inspection will be considered.
