We are currently partnering with a fast-growing AI & Data consulting company in Japan that is actively expanding its Generative AI and Legacy Modernization division and is now looking for a Software Engineer Forward Deployed (FDE).
Please note that prior financial industry experience is NOT required.
Annual Salary: ¥8M – ¥15M JPY
Hybrid System: 3 ~ 4 remote days per week.
JAPANESE BUSINESS LEVEL REQUIRED
The company works directly with major financial institutions and enterprise clients in Japan, supporting large-scale digital transformation, Generative AI implementation, and legacy system modernization.
While currently focused primarily on the Japanese market, the company is also beginning to expand into global projects.
The company has two offices in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi area: a corporate office and an engineering hub. The engineering team is highly international, with the majority of members being bilingual engineers from diverse backgrounds. English is commonly used within engineering teams, while Japanese is important for client-facing communication.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will work directly with clients to understand complex business and system challenges and turn them into practical technical solutions.
This is a highly hands-on role covering the full lifecycle — from requirements and technical validation to architecture design, implementation, testing, and production deployment.
You will work with engineers, AI specialists, Product Managers, consultants, and client stakeholders on projects involving Generative AI, LLM applications, legacy modernization, cloud transformation, system integration, and technical PoCs.
This is an excellent opportunity for Software Engineers and Technical Architects who want to combine hands-on engineering, solution architecture, Generative AI, and client-facing technical work.

Requirements
Required:
• Experience developing Web applications or enterprise systems
• Hands-on experience with both software architecture and implementation
• Experience translating business/client requirements into technical solutions
• Experience with Generative AI / LLM application development or PoCs
• Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and make architecture decisions
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder communication skills
Ideal Background
Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead, Technical Architect, Solution Architect, AI / GenAI Engineer, or Technical Consultant with strong hands-on software engineering experience.

• Annual salary: ~ ¥15M JPY
