About us
Chipverse runs GPU bare-metal infrastructure in Egypt, serving AI teams across Africa. Beyond rentals, we deliver on-prem AI deployments and custom model training for clients.
The role
Broad, hands-on AI engineering across the LLM stack - training, evaluation, and deployment. The work varies with client and company needs; we need someone who can handle whatever the stack throws at them.
What we expect you to know
Strong computer science and software engineering foundation, with experience delivering production-grade AI systems
LLM training and fine-tuning (full-parameter and LoRA/QLoRA, multi-GPU)
Building training datasets from raw, messy real-world data - cleaning, structuring, and validating it into something a model can learn from
RAG systems design and implementation
Model evaluation and benchmarking methodology - designing custom evaluations for output quality and performance, knowing what to measure and why, not just running leaderboard scripts
Good to have
Under-the-hood understanding: memory management, quantization, inference optimization - why things run fast or slow. No CUDA kernel writing here, but knowing how transformers work below the library level sets you apart
We're not looking for someone who glues APIs together, but someone with deep understanding who can make the right calls when the input is vague and the path isn't laid out.
Terms
Flexible hybrid (Cairo)
3-month contract, extendable to full-time
