About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

IT Project Manager (6-Month Contract, Remote)
Sweent is hiring an IT Project Manager for a 6-month engagement with an education institution, with possible extension. You'll support the central IT organization in planning, coordinating and delivering technology projects, working with project teams, business units and outside vendors to deliver on time, within scope and within budget.
The work
• Integration projects (primary): bringing new vendor software into the institution, working with functional business units, vendors and internal IT. These projects are usually small on the IT side; most of the effort is coordinating business-unit staff through requirements, testing and training. You'll run several integration projects at the same time.
• Internal technical projects: upgrades that need coordination across networking, systems and information security teams.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain project plans: scope, objectives, deliverables, risks and assumptions, timelines and resource needs.
• Manage day-to-day project work, track progress against milestones, update schedules, and escalate issues or delays.
• Work with sponsors and stakeholders to clarify requirements and keep projects aligned with organizational goals.
• Be the main point of contact for project communications. Run meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and follow up on action items.
• Identify risks and issues and help plan mitigations.
• Keep project documentation current: requirements, change requests, risk logs, meeting notes and status reports.
• Support portfolio reporting and enter data into project management tools.
• Take part in post-project reviews and lessons learned, and suggest process improvements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree.
• 2–4+ years in IT project coordination or project management.
• Working knowledge of project management methods and tools.
• Strong organization, time management, and written and verbal communication.
• Basic understanding of IT systems and terminology.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. Must pass E-Verify and a background check.
Preferred
• Higher-education experience.
• PMP or CAPM; ITIL Foundation a plus.
• Experience managing vendor software or system integrations.
• Experience with TeamDynamix or a similar PPM tool.
Engagement: 6 months, 40 hrs/week, no overtime. Remote, U.S. business. Start: October 2026.
To apply: include your resume and a short note about a project where you coordinated business users through requirements, testing and training.
