About the Role
We are looking for a talented 3D Animator with 2–3 years of professional experience to create high-quality character and gameplay animations for PC games. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of animation principles, body mechanics, character acting, and game animation workflows, with hands-on experience working with both Unity and Unreal Engine.
Key Responsibilities
Create high-quality 3D character and gameplay animations for PC games.
Develop animations for walking, running, jumping, climbing, combat, attacks, reactions, idle, and other gameplay actions.
Create expressive and believable character performances based on the game's visual style.
Apply strong knowledge of timing, spacing, weight, anticipation, follow-through, and body mechanics.
Work with character models, rigs, and animation systems to produce polished animations.
Collaborate with Game Designers, 3D Artists, Rigging Artists, Technical Artists, and Developers.
Implement, integrate, and test animations in both Unity and Unreal Engine.
Work with animation systems and tools within both game engines as required.
Refine animations based on gameplay requirements and feedback.
Ensure animations transition smoothly and function correctly during gameplay.
Maintain consistency and quality across characters and animation sets.
Troubleshoot animation-related issues during implementation.
Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high standard of animation quality.
Required Skills
2–3 years of professional experience as a 3D Animator, preferably in PC/console gaming.
Strong understanding of 3D animation principles and body mechanics.
Hands-on experience with Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or equivalent 3D software.
Strong experience creating character and gameplay animations.
Hands-on experience with both Unity and Unreal Engine is required.
Good understanding of character rigs and animation pipelines.
Experience implementing and testing animations within game engines.
Ability to create polished, realistic, and believable character movement.
Strong attention to detail and creativity.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Good to Have
Experience working on PC or console games.
Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
Knowledge of Animation Blueprints, State Machines, Blend Spaces, and Animation Montages.
Experience with Unity Animator, Animation Controller, Avatar/Mecanim, and blend trees.
Experience with motion capture cleanup and retargeting.
Experience with facial animation and lip-sync.
Basic knowledge of rigging and skinning.
Experience with combat, action, or third-person character animation.
Portfolio Requirement
Candidates must provide a portfolio/showreel demonstrating their 3D animation work.
The portfolio should preferably include character animation, gameplay animation, combat/action animation, body mechanics, and examples of work implemented in Unity and/or Unreal Engine.
