Site Engineer (Mechanical) – Roles & Responsibilities
Work Profile: Installation & Commissioning of Machinery
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and execute mechanical installation and commissioning of machinery at customer sites.
Read and understand mechanical drawings, layouts, GA drawings and equipment specifications.
Coordinate with the Project Manager, Design Team, Production Team and Customer for site activities.
Ensure machinery installation is carried out as per drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Manage and guide technicians, fitters, welders and helpers at the site.
Check alignment, leveling, fitting, assembly and mechanical connections of equipment.
Identify and troubleshoot installation and commissioning issues and coordinate for timely resolution.
Conduct trial runs and testing of machinery and ensure proper functioning.
Maintain daily site progress reports, installation records and commissioning reports.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and site safety requirements.
Coordinate with vendors/subcontractors and monitor their work at site.
Ensure project activities are completed within the planned timeline and quality requirements.
Communicate site requirements, material shortages and technical issues to the concerned team.
Support customer handover and final commissioning of the machinery.
Required Skills
Good knowledge of mechanical machinery installation & commissioning
Ability to read engineering/mechanical drawings
Good team coordination and communication skills
Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
Willingness to travel to customer/project sites, if required
Basic knowledge of MS Excel and reporting
Qualification & Experience
B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering
2–4 years of relevant experience
Experience in industrial machinery installation/commissioning preferred
Salary: ₹3 LPA – ₹5 LPA (depends upon knowledge)
