· Study customer enquiries, RFQs, BOQs, drawings, technical specifications and tender documents.
· Understand project requirements and select appropriate products from the Dakons portfolio.
· Prepare accurate BOQs, material take-offs, costing sheets and technical-commercial offers.
· Develop proposals for DESOFT, cable trays, raceways, overhead trunking, supports and customized components.
· Prepare technical datasheets, compliance statements, deviation lists and supporting documentation.
· Ensure proposals meet applicable project specifications, IEC standards and data-center design requirements.
· Coordinate with design and engineering teams for product selection, customized components and technical clarifications.
· Work with the sales team to establish competitive pricing while maintaining the required commercial margins.
· Respond to customer and consultant queries during technical evaluation and order finalization.
· Attend technical discussions, pre-bid meetings and proposal-review meetings when required.
· Review revisions in drawings, quantities and specifications and update proposals accordingly.
· Prepare comparison statements, value-engineering recommendations and alternative technical solutions.
· Support the sales team during commercial negotiations and order conversion.
· Conduct a structured handover of confirmed orders to design, production and project-execution teams.
· Maintain proper records of enquiries, quotations, revisions, approvals and order status.
· Monitor proposal timelines and ensure submissions are completed within customer deadlines.
Qualification and Experience
· Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Production Engineering.
· MBA or postgraduate qualification in marketing or operations will be an added advantage.
· 3–5 years of experience in proposal engineering, estimation, tendering or technical sales.
· Experience in cable-management systems, electrical products, data centers, MEP projects, sheet-metal products or industrial infrastructure will be preferred.
Technical Skills
· Strong understanding of engineering drawings, BOQs and technical specifications.
· Knowledge of costing, estimation and commercial proposal preparation.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
· Working knowledge of AutoCAD will be preferred.
· Familiarity with ERP, CRM or quotation-management systems will be advantageous.
· Understanding of cable trays, trunking, supports and sheet-metal fabrication processes.
· Awareness of relevant IEC standards and data-center infrastructure requirements will be an advantage.
