Role Description
The Lab Assistant role at Vagmi Chemicals Pvt Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Andhra Pradesh, India. The Lab Assistant will support daily laboratory operations, including preparing samples, handling reagents, and assisting with routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining basic laboratory equipment, recording test results accurately, labeling and organizing samples, and helping ensure that quality control procedures are followed. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment, adhering to safety protocols, and collaborating with chemists, production staff, and quality teams to support smooth plant operations. The Lab Assistant may also help with inventory of lab supplies and documentation required for internal audits and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills and familiarity with laboratory equipment used for routine chemical testing.
Candidates should possess quality control knowledge and analytical skills to perform tests, interpret basic results, and support product consistency.
Candidates should possess effective communication skills to document findings clearly and collaborate with technical and production teams.
Relevant educational background such as a diploma or degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related scientific field.
Attention to detail, adherence to safety and hygiene standards, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures reliably.
Willingness to work on-site in a laboratory within an industrial environment and to learn new methods and technologies as required.
Prior experience in a chemical or manufacturing laboratory is an advantage but motivated entry-level candidates are also encouraged to apply.
MFI – Melt Flow Index, MFR – Melt Flow Rate, UTM – Universal Testing Machine, DSC – Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Ash Content, Moisture Testing, Impact Testing are preferred tests.
