Role Description The Senior Lab Technician Haematology Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Dera Bassi. This role involves performing routine and specialized haematology tests, preparing and processing blood samples, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results. The specialist will calibrate, operate, and maintain haematology analyzers and other laboratory equipment, following established protocols and safety guidelines. Daily tasks include monitoring quality control parameters, documenting test procedures and outcomes, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role also requires collaboration with clinicians and other laboratory team members, participation in audits and inspections, and training junior laboratory staff as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills and practical experience as laboratory technicians, preferably in haematology.
Candidates should possess proficiency in handling and maintaining laboratory equipment used in diagnostic testing.
Candidates should possess quality control knowledge to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with laboratory standards.
Candidates should possess analytical skills for interpreting test results and identifying anomalies or trends.
Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field; advanced certification in haematology is an advantage.
Thorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Prior experience in a hospital or diagnostic lab setting, particularly in haematology, is highly beneficial.
