Anti Boring is a new product venture by MAD Designs focused on creating unique, functional and thoughtfully designed products for corporate gifting, workspaces and everyday use.
We are not looking to create conventional corporate gifts. We are building products that make people say, “That's interesting. I haven't seen this before.”
We are looking for a Product Development & Production Executive who can take a product idea or design and turn it into a manufacturer-ready product.
What will you do?
You will be the bridge between product ideas, design and manufacturing.
Your responsibilities will include:
Convert product concepts and designs into production-ready drawings and files
Prepare detailed 2D technical drawings and specifications
Create or modify 3D models wherever required
Prepare files for:
CNC cutting
Laser cutting
Engraving
Printing
Wood/metal/acrylic fabrication
3D printing
Other manufacturing processes
Define product dimensions, material thickness, joints, holes, cut-outs and other technical details
Prepare production artwork for manufacturers
Understand how different materials and manufacturing techniques affect the final product
Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to clarify technical requirements
Review prototypes and suggest corrections to improve manufacturability
Maintain product drawings, specifications and production files
Create vendor-ready files for new Anti Boring products
Work with the creative team to ensure the final manufactured product matches the intended design
Maintain a systematic library of product files, versions and specifications
The kind of person we're looking for
You should be someone who doesn't just ask:
“Does this look good?”
You should also ask:
“How will this be made?”
You should understand the difference between a beautiful visual and a manufacturable product.
You should be comfortable working with manufacturers, asking questions, checking measurements and figuring out practical solutions when a design needs to be modified for production.
Required Skills
Essential:
Good understanding of technical drawings
Experience preparing production-ready files
Understanding of dimensions, measurements and specifications
Understanding of manufacturing processes
Ability to communicate with vendors/manufacturers
Strong attention to detail
Important to have knowledge of:
AutoCAD
Fusion 360
SolidWorks
Rhino
3D printing
CNC / laser cutting
Product prototyping
Knowledge of wood, metal, acrylic, glass, ceramics, fabric or other product materials
Educational Background
Candidates from the following backgrounds can apply:
Industrial Design
Product Design
Mechanical Design
Manufacturing / Production
Engineering Design
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Product Design
Relevant technical/design qualification
Freshers with strong practical skills and a good portfolio may also apply.
