Role Description This part-time remote role as an API Developer / Implementation Specialist focuses on designing, developing, and integrating APIs that support change management and agility initiatives centered on people. The individual in this role will work closely with stakeholders to understand functional and technical requirements, translate them into API specifications, and implement secure, scalable solutions. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and testing integrations between platforms, troubleshooting technical issues, documenting API endpoints and workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation and user adoption. The role also involves monitoring performance, optimizing existing integrations, and providing implementation support and guidance to internal and external partners.
Qualifications
Strong experience in API design and development, including RESTful services, JSON/XML, and integration patterns.
Hands-on skills with programming languages commonly used for backend and API work (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript/Node.js, Python) and version control tools such as Git.
Knowledge of API management platforms, authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, JWT), and security best practices.
Experience implementing and supporting integrations between SaaS platforms, CRMs, ERPs, or other enterprise systems.
Ability to gather and analyze requirements, create technical specifications, and produce clear implementation and user documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple implementation tasks in a part-time schedule.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with comfort working in remote, multicultural, and cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with agile methodologies, change management concepts, and human-centered design is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in consulting, implementation roles, or customer-facing technical support is a plus.
