About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team working on advanced cloud technologies and data processing platforms. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects that impact national security and operational effectiveness. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable cloud analytics platforms utilizing modern big data frameworks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges, implement distributed processing solutions, and ensure high performance and reliability of our systems. This position requires a solution-oriented mindset, strong Java expertise, and a passion for innovation in a secure cloud environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical skills, experience, and personal attributes, including:
Strong hands-on experience in Java development, with a focus on building scalable, high-performance applications using modern Java frameworks.
Deep technical knowledge and practical experience with big data processing frameworks, particularly MapReduce.
Proven experience developing software within secure, complex cloud environments, demonstrating an understanding of cloud security protocols and best practices.
Hands-on experience working with mission platform environments such as the QTA platform or similar specialized data processing platforms.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
Effective communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear, actionable solutions for diverse stakeholders.
A proactive approach to system analysis, performance tuning, and architecture enhancements.
Security Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP).
Responsibilities
The Software Engineer will be responsible for a broad range of technical and collaborative tasks, including:
Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable cloud-based analytics applications using Java and modern frameworks.
Implementing distributed data processing solutions utilizing frameworks such as MapReduce and other big data technologies.
Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that meet mission requirements and system specifications.
Optimizing system performance by identifying bottlenecks and deploying performance tuning techniques.
Contributing to system architecture discussions, providing technical insights and recommendations for scalability and security enhancements.
Ensuring compliance with security protocols and standards in all phases of development and deployment.
Participating in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards.
Staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve system capabilities.
