Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Network Platform Automation Engineer to automate and modernize network infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, CI/CD, and Cisco networking technologies.
This role will focus on automating network operating system upgrades, vulnerability remediation, compliance validation, testing, configuration management, and network lifecycle activities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain automation solutions for enterprise network infrastructure.
Automate network OS upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, and configuration changes.
Develop automation workflows using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for network automation and infrastructure deployment.
Integrate network automation processes with Git-based version control.
Automate network compliance checks, configuration validation, and security remediation.
Develop automated testing frameworks to validate network changes before production deployment.
Automate configuration backups, drift detection, inventory management, and reporting.
Work with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and related networking technologies.
Develop reusable automation modules, playbooks, scripts, and infrastructure templates.
Troubleshoot automation failures and network-related issues.
Collaborate with network engineering, security, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
Maintain technical documentation for automation processes and operational procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve network reliability, operational efficiency, and deployment consistency.
Required Skills
Strong experience in network automation and network engineering.
Strong Python scripting and development experience.
Hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform.
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong knowledge of Cisco networking technologies.
Understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security.
Experience automating network configuration and lifecycle operations.
Experience with network compliance, vulnerability remediation, and configuration management.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, or similar platforms.
Experience with REST APIs and network automation frameworks.
Knowledge of GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.
Experience with NetBox or network source-of-truth platforms.
Knowledge of cloud networking and automation.
Familiarity with DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
