Shadow Teacher / Behavioural Therapist

Company Description ELARA Childcare Therapy Centre and Daycare, located in BTM Layout 2nd Stage, Bangalore, provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. The centre offers a multidisciplinary range of services including Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, and sensory activities. ELARA also provides Special Education, Daily Life Skills training, and School Readiness programs to support holistic child development. In addition, the centre runs a full-day daycare, enabling continuity of care and support for children and their families.
Role Description The Shadow Teacher / Behavioural Therapist will work full time on-site at ELARA’s centre in Bengaluru South, supporting children in classroom and therapy settings. In this role, the professional will closely observe children’s behaviour, provide individualized support, and help implement behaviour intervention plans in coordination with the therapy team. Daily responsibilities include assisting children with academic tasks, social interactions, and daily routines, while promoting positive behaviours and emotional regulation. The role also involves collaborating with therapists, educators, and families to track progress, document observations, and adjust strategies as needed. The Shadow Teacher / Behavioural Therapist is expected to maintain a safe, inclusive, and child-centered environment, aligned with ELARA’s therapeutic and educational goals.
Qualifications
Masters in Psychology Required.
Experience working with children in classroom, daycare, or therapy settings, especially those with developmental, behavioural, or learning needs.
Strong skills in behaviour observation, documentation, and implementation of structured behaviour support or intervention plans.
Ability to support children with academic tasks, daily life skills, and social interaction, using age-appropriate and evidence-based strategies.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with therapists, educators, and families, including clear reporting of child progress.
Patience, empathy, and a child-centered approach, with the ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
Willingness to learn and adapt to multidisciplinary therapy approaches (Occupational, Speech, Behavioural, Art, and Sensory-based activities).
Availability for full-time, on-site work in Bengaluru South, with reliability and punctuality in daily responsibilities.
