Role Description The Staff Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role based at the Janaushadhi Kendra in Tamulpur. The role involves dispensing prescribed medications accurately, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include counseling patients on proper medication use, dosage, side effects, and storage, and maintaining clear, complete pharmacy records. The Staff Pharmacist will manage inventory, check expiry dates, and ensure that generic medicines are stocked and labeled correctly. This position also requires coordination with prescribers, support for routine audits, and contributing to a customer-focused, ethical, and efficient pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
Relevant pharmacy qualification (e.g., Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy) from a recognized institution and valid registration with the appropriate pharmacy council.
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage calculations, and standard treatment guidelines, with a focus on generic medicines.
Ability to provide clear, empathetic patient counseling, including explaining prescriptions, usage instructions, and potential side effects in an accessible manner.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate records, managing stock and inventory, and following standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
Attention to detail, ethical decision-making, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
Basic computer literacy for handling billing, prescription entry, and inventory systems; prior experience in a retail or community pharmacy setting is an advantage.
