Role Description The STP Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Daltonganj. The STP Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Sewage Treatment Plant, including monitoring equipment, controlling inflow and outflow, and ensuring treated water meets required quality standards. Daily tasks include checking and recording plant parameters, adjusting chemical dosing, cleaning screens and filters, and reporting any abnormalities or breakdowns. The role involves coordinating with maintenance teams for repairs, following safety and environmental guidelines, and maintaining accurate operation logs and documentation. The STP Operator also supports periodic inspections, basic troubleshooting, and adherence to regulatory compliance at the plant.
Qualifications
Practical experience in operating sewage treatment plants or similar water/wastewater treatment facilities.
Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment used in STP operations (pumps, blowers, valves, panels).
Understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, chemical dosing, and quality parameters.
Ability to read and maintain operation logs, follow SOPs, and comply with safety and environmental rules.
Minimum ITI, diploma, or equivalent technical qualification in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical, electrical, environmental) preferred.
Willingness to work in shifts, handle on-site duties in Daltonganj, and respond to operational emergencies.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently as well as with a team.
Prior experience in infrastructure or utility services will be considered an added advantage.
