Role Description The Assistant Manager role at JSW Steel in Mangaluru is a full-time, on-site position supporting operational and managerial activities within the assigned department. This role typically involves coordinating day-to-day production or process tasks, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards. The Assistant Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, prepares reports and documentation, and contributes to the implementation of process improvements and cost optimization initiatives. Responsibilities also include supporting team members, facilitating communication between management and shop floor staff, and assisting in planning and scheduling to meet business and project timelines.
Qualifications
Strong operational and process management skills, with the ability to coordinate daily activities and monitor performance.
Knowledge of manufacturing or industrial operations, preferably in steel or heavy industry, including safety and quality standards.
Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and use of productivity or ERP tools for decision-making and planning.
Effective communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and frontline staff.
Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and support process optimization.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field; relevant industry experience in a supervisory or coordination role is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Mangaluru, adapt to dynamic production environments, and maintain high safety and compliance standards.
