Role Description The Senior Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Kolkata Area, responsible for leading land and route surveys for road and highway projects. This role oversees survey planning, execution, and quality control, including setting out alignments, collecting topographic data, and validating levels and measurements on-site. The Senior Surveyor will coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and contractors to ensure accurate data for design, construction, and maintenance activities. Typical tasks include supervising survey teams, managing survey equipment, preparing survey reports and drawings, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role also involves monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks or discrepancies in survey data, and recommending corrective actions to maintain project timelines and quality.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in land and route surveying for road and highway projects, including topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction set-out.
Hands-on experience with modern survey instruments and software (e.g., total stations, GPS/GNSS, levels, CAD tools, and survey data processing applications).
Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, road design standards, and relevant codes and regulations applicable to infrastructure projects.
Ability to supervise field teams, manage schedules, and coordinate effectively with project, engineering, and construction stakeholders.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for validating measurements, preparing survey reports, and resolving discrepancies.
Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
Relevant technical diploma or degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional certification in surveying is an advantage.
Experience working on large-scale road or infrastructure projects in India is preferred; familiarity with safety practices and compliance requirements is beneficial.
