Accountant

About the Role
We're a growing startup looking for a hands-on Accountant to build and manage our finance
function from the ground up. This is an early-stage role, ideal for someone who enjoys
setting up systems and processes rather than just following an existing structure, and who is
comfortable being the sole point of contact for all accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
Handle end-to-end accounts and financial activities for the company
Set up and maintain accounting systems, processes and documentation from scratch
Take responsibility for monthly accounts closing
Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and basic MIS reports
Perform Customer, Vendor & Bank Reconciliation
Conduct stock audit and reconciliation (physical vs. book/system stock) and flag
discrepancies
Record and review sales, purchase, expense and journal entries
Track customer outstanding, vendor payables and ageing
Ensure month-end provisions, accruals and adjustments are accounted for correctly
Coordinate with vendors, auditors, consultants and management as needed
Handle Tally / ERP and Advanced Excel
Support statutory compliance — GST, TDS, tax audit, and other filings, working with
external CA/consultants where required
Take initiative in improving financial controls and reporting as the business scales
Candidate Profile
B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter or equivalent qualification preferred
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience
Comfortable working independently in a startup environment with minimal
supervision
Experience in monthly accounts closing, reconciliation and stock audit
Working knowledge of Excel and Tally / ERP
Startup mindset — willing to take ownership beyond a narrow job description,
especially in the early stages
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Prior experience in a small/early-stage company or FMCG-adjacent business is a
