Director of Development & Fundraising (volunteer)

Ireland Without Walls (IWW) is a developing Irish cultural and diaspora organisation working to make Irish arts, heritage, Gaeilge and cultural participation more accessible while maintaining strong cultural standards.
We are seeking a Volunteer Director of Development & Fundraising to join our Executive Leadership Team and help build the organisation’s long-term income strategy.
This is a senior founding position. It is unpaid.
The role:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead IWW’s approach to fundraising and development, including:
• Developing a practical fundraising and income-generation strategy
• Identifying suitable trusts, foundations, grants and public funding opportunities
• Leading or supporting high-quality funding applications
• Building relationships with potential funders, donors and corporate partners
• Developing sponsorship and partnership opportunities
• Maintaining a clear fundraising pipeline and funding calendar
• Working with programme, finance and impact colleagues to develop strong cases for support
• Supporting the development of appropriate fundraising policies, systems and reporting
• Helping shape a future Development & Fundraising function as IWW grows
About you:
We are particularly interested in people with experience in one or more of:
• Charity or nonprofit fundraising
• Trusts and foundations
• Grant or bid writing
• Corporate partnerships and sponsorship
• Major donor or individual giving
• Fundraising strategy
• Institutional funding
You should be comfortable working independently, contributing at leadership level and helping build systems within an early-stage organisation.
Experience of Irish culture or the Irish diaspora is welcome, but not required.
