Role Description The Vice President of Accounting is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities across the organization. This role manages the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with relevant standards, and timely delivery to leadership and stakeholders. The Vice President of Accounting will lead the accounting team, establish and maintain internal controls, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and partner with finance and investment teams on portfolio and operational reporting. Day-to-day tasks include supervising general ledger activities, coordinating audits, monitoring cash flow, optimizing accounting systems and processes, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. The role also involves developing policies, mentoring team members, and collaborating with cross-functional partners in a remote environment.
Qualifications
Strong accounting foundation, including experience with Accounting principles and preparation of Financial Statements.
Robust Finance background with proven Analytical Skills to interpret data and inform strategic decisions.
Certified Public Accounting (CPA) or equivalent professional certification, or significant progress toward such credentials.
Experience leading accounting teams, implementing internal controls, and managing audits.
Proficiency with modern accounting software and ERP systems, and comfort working in a remote, technology-driven environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is an advantage.
Background in investment, venture capital, or early-stage company environments is beneficial.
