SEO & Google Discover Expert

We are looking for an experienced SEO & Google Discover Expert to help grow Samastipur News (samastipurnews.in), a regional digital news platform focused primarily on Bihar and surrounding regions.
This role is for someone with proven, hands-on experience in News SEO, Google Discover, Google News, Google Top Stories, technical SEO, indexing, and authoritative link building.
The ideal candidate should understand how news websites are discovered, indexed, ranked, and surfaced across Google Search, Google News, Top Stories, and Discover. Experience working with news publishers in 2026 is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Analyze the current SEO, technical SEO, indexing, crawling, and content structure of the website.
Develop and implement a practical SEO strategy specifically for a news website.
Improve visibility in Google Search, Google News, Google Top Stories, and Google Discover.
Identify technical and content-related issues affecting indexing and organic visibility.
Analyze Google Search Console, Google Analytics and other relevant SEO data to identify opportunities and problems.
Develop strategies to improve Google Discover visibility and traffic.
Research and identify legitimate, relevant backlink opportunities from authoritative websites and official portals.
Identify relevant opportunities across Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh government websites, district administration portals, educational institutions, recruitment portals, public information websites, and other authoritative sources.
Research relevant opportunities from major Government of India websites and official portals.
Build a sustainable authority and backlink strategy without spam, PBNs, automated link schemes, or low-quality backlinks.
Monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic, indexing, Discover performance, Google News visibility, and backlink growth.
Provide regular reports covering work completed, issues identified, actions taken, and measurable results.
Stay updated with significant Google Search, Google News, and Google Discover changes.
Required Experience
Proven hands-on experience with News SEO.
Strong practical knowledge of Google Discover.
Experience working with Google Discover during 2026.
Experience with Google News and Top Stories.
Strong understanding of technical SEO, crawling, indexing, sitemaps, canonicalization, structured data, and website architecture.
Experience using Google Search Console and SEO analytics tools.
Strong understanding of authoritative and relevant backlink acquisition.
Ability to identify legitimate backlink opportunities from government and official websites.
Previous experience working with news websites or digital publishers is highly preferred.
Ability to provide real examples, case studies, or measurable results from previous projects.
