About The Role
We are seeking talented Flight Simulation Software Engineers at various levels—Associate, Experienced, and Senior—to join our Flight Simulation Labs team based in Berkeley, MO. This role primarily supports Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), focusing on developing and maintaining simulation infrastructure that enhances our flight training and testing capabilities. The successful candidates will be instrumental in designing, developing, and integrating software solutions that simulate aircraft systems, monitor subsystem interactions, and model various aircraft capabilities for both testing and training purposes.
The role involves working on cutting-edge simulation tools that serve as foundational platforms for developing advanced flight simulation capabilities. Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that involve creating core simulation infrastructure, developing tools for message monitoring and capturing in lab environments, and modeling aircraft functionalities for constructive scenario testing. This position offers a dynamic environment where innovation and collaboration are key, and candidates will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality simulation solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Candidates should have at least 2 years of professional experience in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada, along with a solid understanding of software development principles. For senior roles, candidates with 5 or more years of relevant experience are preferred. An active Secret Clearance or higher is advantageous, especially for more experienced levels.
Additional qualifications include familiarity with networking principles, experience working within Agile methodologies using tools like Jira, and strong communication skills. Candidates should be capable of multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment and working collaboratively within diverse teams. Prior experience in defense or avionics industries, along with knowledge of simulation environments and messaging protocols, will be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
Develop, document, and maintain software architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for simulation systems.
Create and integrate software components to build comprehensive simulation environments supporting flight testing and training.
Support the development of simulation tools that monitor, capture, and analyze subsystem messages within lab environments.
Model aircraft capabilities and construct scenarios to test and validate simulation fidelity and performance.
Collaborate within agile teams to meet project milestones and deliverables efficiently.
Execute research and development activities, documenting findings and integrating innovative solutions into existing frameworks.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure simulation systems meet operational requirements and standards.
