About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team at Version 1. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications that support our clients' digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Java development, with a strong background in AWS cloud services, database management, and batch processing systems. As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, QA engineers, and other developers, to deliver innovative software solutions that meet business objectives. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing application performance, ensuring code quality, and mentoring junior developers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. You should have a proven track record of at least 7+ years working as a Java Developer within product development or service-oriented environments. Extensive experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Event Bus for over 3 years is essential. You should have a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including writing complex SQL queries and troubleshooting performance issues. Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful API development is required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are vital, along with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. Candidates with batch processing experience and Python skills (minimum 2 years) are preferred. Additionally, SC Clearance is essential for this role.
Responsibilities
Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient Java applications that meet business requirements and technical standards.
Utilize AWS services to build, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Design, implement, and optimize database schemas; write complex SQL queries; and troubleshoot database performance issues.
Develop and manage batch processing systems capable of handling large volumes of data efficiently and reliably.
Ensure code quality through rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Collaborate effectively with product managers, QA teams, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software solutions on time.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and technical issues to ensure optimal application performance.
Mentor junior developers, providing guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to foster professional growth and continuous learning within the team.
