About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Fencing Estimator to support a growing commercial construction company.
This position will manage the estimating process for commercial fencing projects, including plan review, quantity takeoffs, material and labor pricing, vendor coordination, and bid preparation.
U.S. estimating experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Review commercial fencing plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
Perform detailed takeoffs for fencing, posts, gates, hardware, and accessories.
Estimate chain link, wrought iron/ornamental fencing, and commercial gates.
Prepare complete estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and other project costs.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, conflicts, and missing information.
Prepare and/or review commercial fencing shop drawings.
Compile accurate and competitive bid proposals.
Manage multiple bids and ensure estimates are completed within required deadlines.
Perform quality checks before bid submission.
Communicate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal team members.
Maintain and improve estimating templates, cost information, and SOPs.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of construction estimating experience
Proven commercial fencing estimating experience: Chain link fencing, Wrought iron / ornamental fencing and Commercial gates
Strong experience in US estimating:
Experience with commercial fencing shop drawings
Strong blueprint, plan, and specification reading skills
Strong fencing quantity takeoff skills
Strong understanding of fencing materials, installation methods, labor, and pricing
Experience with Bluebeam Revu.
Ability to independently manage multiple bids and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Ability to communicate professionally with U.S. vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
What We’re Looking For
We need an estimator who can independently manage the commercial fencing estimating process from:
Plans → Takeoff → Pricing → Estimate → Bid Submission
The successful candidate must be able to evaluate project requirements, develop accurate estimates, obtain competitive pricing, and identify scope or pricing issues before bid submission.
