Purchase Engineer – Renewable Energy

Role Description This full-time, on-site Purchase Engineer – Renewable Energy role at Solar-LIT is based in Gurugram and focuses on end-to-end procurement for solar and renewable energy projects. The role involves managing sourcing activities, evaluating suppliers, and negotiating terms to ensure cost-effective, high-quality materials and services. The Purchase Engineer will prepare and track purchase orders, coordinate with project, engineering, and finance teams, and maintain accurate procurement documentation. Daily responsibilities include monitoring inventory and lead times, analyzing purchasing data, identifying process improvements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. The role also requires building strong vendor relationships and supporting timely project execution through proactive purchase planning.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, including vendor evaluation, sourcing, and procurement workflows.
Experience in purchase management and purchase planning for engineering or renewable energy projects.
Ability to create, review, and manage purchase orders with attention to accuracy and timelines.
Solid analytical skills to assess costs, compare quotations, and optimize procurement decisions.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; specialization in renewable energy is an advantage.
Familiarity with solar and renewable energy components, standards, and project requirements.
Proficiency in ERP or procurement software and standard office productivity tools.
Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work on-site in Gurugram and collaborate with cross-functional project teams.
