Role Description The Owner role is a part-time, remote position responsible for overseeing the overall direction, health, and growth of the DE&TH community. Day-to-day tasks include managing the Discord server, setting community guidelines, moderating discussions when needed, and ensuring a safe, respectful environment for all members. The Owner will coordinate community events, support moderators and volunteers, and make decisions about new initiatives or partnerships. This role also involves monitoring member feedback, resolving escalated issues, and maintaining clear communication channels so that the community remains active, inclusive, and aligned with its mission.
Qualifications
Experience managing or owning online communities or Discord servers, including moderation and conflict resolution.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse members and provide clear, transparent updates.
Organizational and leadership abilities to plan events, coordinate volunteers, and oversee community projects.
Basic understanding of digital safety, privacy practices, and creating inclusive, non-discriminatory spaces.
Comfort working remotely, using online tools, and being available at flexible times to support community needs.
Prior experience in community management, social media, or digital content creation is beneficial but not required.
