About BagXtra:
BagXtra is a peer-to-peer delivery platform connecting shoppers in Nigeria with travelers flying from the U.S. who have unused luggage space.
The behaviour already exists. Someone announces they are traveling home and the requests begin: shoes, supplements, hair, a laptop, a phone for a cousin. It happens over WhatsApp and through favours, and it only works if you happen to know someone who is flying. BagXtra makes it available to everyone, at a fraction of courier cost and without the wait.
Our platform is built and we are entering our pilot phase. This role exists to bring the first wave of real users onto it.
The Role:
You will own customer acquisition for the Nigerian market end to end: content, creators, paid campaigns, community, and search. This is a hands-on role with a clear mandate and a short timeline. You will not be executing someone else's marketing plan. You will be building and running your own, with direct access to the founding team and a real budget behind you.
We are looking for someone who measures their work in signups and transactions rather than impressions.
What You Will Do:
Creator marketing. Source, brief, and manage a roster of 15 - 20 micro creators producing short, natural, conversational video content. Handle scripts, negotiation, scheduling, and delivery.
Paid acquisition. Plan and run Meta and TikTok campaigns, including whitelisted ads using creator content. Manage budget, monitor performance, and reallocate spend based on what converts.
Content and search. Build and publish a consistent content programme through our CMS, targeting the questions Nigerian shoppers actually search when trying to buy from abroad. Own our organic search visibility.
Community management. Run our Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook presence. Maintain a consistent posting calendar and respond to comments and direct messages, where most of our trust is either built or lost.
Traveler recruitment. Run digital outreach to Nigerian diaspora communities in the US through LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp groups, and student associations to grow our traveler base.
Reporting. Deliver a weekly written update covering campaigns run, spend, and results, measured in signups, completed orders, and travelers onboarded.
What Success Looks Like:
First 30 Days:
10 or more creators contracted and at least 8 videos delivered
First paid campaign live with conversion tracking in place
20 or more articles published or scheduled
Consistent posting live across all owned channels
First 60 Days:
A measured cost per signup and a clear view of which channel performs best
10 or more completed transactions attributable to your work
15 or more verified travelers onboarded
A budget recommendation supported by your own campaign data
First 90 Days:
A documented, repeatable acquisition process
December campaign live and performing
Requirements:
2 or more years driving user acquisition for a consumer product in Nigeria, ideally in fintech, e-commerce, or logistics
Hands-on experience building and optimising campaigns in Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager
Demonstrated experience sourcing, briefing, and managing UGC creators
A portfolio showing measurable business outcomes such as signups, downloads, or transactions
Excellent written English and a natural feel for how Nigerian audiences communicate online
Reliable internet and power, and the self-direction to work independently across time zones
Comfort with cold outreach
Preferred:
Experience marketing to the Nigerian or African diaspora
Early-stage or pre-launch startup experience
Basic video editing skills
Familiarity with WordPress or a similar CMS
What We Offer:
Full ownership of a function, with decisions made directly with the founders
A dedicated budget for creator fees and ad spend, separate from your compensation
Performance bonus tied to outcomes you control
Fully remote, with one weekly team call
A clear path to a longer engagement for strong performers
How To Apply:
Send the following to bagxtra.careers@gmail.com with the subject line Growth and Community Manager.

One campaign you ran, in five sentences or fewer: the goal, the spend, and the result. Include real numbers.
A 30 second UGC video script introducing BagXtra to a Nigerian audience, written as a natural conversation between two friends. No voiceover, no jingle, nothing that sounds like an advert.
In three sentences: the biggest reason a Nigerian shopper would not trust BagXtra, and what you would do about it.
Applications missing items 2, 3, and 4 will not be reviewed.
We review applications on a rolling basis and respond to shortlisted candidates within one week.
