About The Role
The Financial Analyst position at University Health plays a vital role in managing and reporting on the fiscal operational functions of the hospital. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, budgeting processes, operational performance indicators, and provider incentive plans. The analyst collaborates closely with hospital leadership, medical directors, and fiscal services to develop comprehensive business plans, conduct profitability analyses, and perform feasibility studies. The position requires a proactive approach to gathering, analyzing, and reporting critical financial data that informs strategic decision-making. The analyst is also responsible for preparing productivity reports and other management reports tailored to leadership needs, ensuring accurate and timely information dissemination. This role is integral to maintaining financial health and operational efficiency within the organization, supporting the hospital's mission to provide high-quality healthcare services.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of four years of relevant experience, preferably within a healthcare setting. A master's degree in a related discipline is preferred and will be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial reporting systems, and experience with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial forecasting. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively across departments, and a detail-oriented approach are essential. Prior experience with healthcare financial operations, report writing, and data management tools will be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
Management and reporting of the fiscal operational functions and report writing aspects of hospital operations. Such functions include but are not limited to financial reporting, budgeting, operational indicators, provider incentive plans, and report writing. Assists with development of business plans, profitability analysis, and feasibility studies. Also responsible for providing productivity reports and preparing other management reports as desired by leadership. Works collaboratively with University Health (UH) administration, medical directors, leadership, and fiscal services. Gather, analyze, and report information necessary for management actions. The analyst will be actively involved in the operating budget, variance analyses process, and will maintain the data loads into the financial reporting system.
